Characteristics related to the visible minority status of the Canadian labour force in 2017 and 2036

Release date: October 29, 2018
Reference scenario

These tables show the modeled (2017) and projected (2036) distribution of the population aged 15 years and over by visible minority status and labour force status as well as participation rates by visible minority status according to the reference scenario. The reference scenario assumes a medium growth of the population and a future evolution of participation rates which follows the trend observed from 1995 to 2017 for the period going from 2017 to 2036.

Table summary
This table displays the results of Distribution of the modeled (2017) and projected (2036) population aged 15 years and over by visible minority status and labour force status according to the reference scenario. The information is grouped by Visible minority status (appearing as row headers), 2017, 2036, Total, Active and Inactive, calculated using percent units of measure (appearing as column headers).

Constant rates scenario

These tables show the modeled (2017) and projected (2036) distribution of the population aged 15 years and over by visible minority status and labour force status as well as participation rates by visible minority status according to the constant rates scenario. The constant rates scenario assumes a medium growth of the population and a maintenance of participation rates at the observed level in 2017 for the period going from 2017 to 2036.

High-growth scenario

These tables show the modeled (2017) and projected (2036) distribution of the population aged 15 years and over by visible minority status and labour force status as well as participation rates by visible minority status according to the high-growth scenario. The high-growth scenario assumes a high growth of the population and a future evolution of participation rates which follows the trend observed from 1995 to 2017 for the period going from 2017 to 2036.
