Prior to 2001, contracted agencies were used to supervise and administer community work service and alternative measures in British Columbia. Since this time, the use of contracted agencies has been regulated largely to Aboriginal populations only, mostly in rural/remote areas of British Columbia, for all programs and community sanctions. In addition, domestic assault cases which include a treatment condition are contracted to specialists to fulfill this need. |
