Note: One incident may involve multiple violations. Counts are based on the most serious violation in the incident. Includes accused persons aged 12 years and older as those younger than 12 years cannot be held criminally responsible. For the purposes of readability, accused are referred to as women and men. A small proportion of accused were aged 12 to 17. Excludes accused persons whose gender or age was coded as unknown. Accused persons older than 110 years were coded as unknown due to possible instances of miscoding of unknown age within this age category. Given that small counts of accused persons identified as “non-binary” may exist, the Uniform Crime Reporting Survey data available to the public has been recoded to assign these counts to either “women and girls” or “men and boys” in order to ensure the protection of confidentiality and privacy.
