Deferred custody and supervision orders and intensive support and supervision programs are community supervision programs that were introduced with the Youth Criminal Justice Act in April 2003.

Counts and rates exclude Nova Scotia due to the unavailability of data. Calculation of the percent change in rate from 2003/2004 to 2012/2013 excludes Nova Scotia and the Northwest Territories due to the unavailability of data for part of the period covered.

Note 4.

Counts exclude community supervision data from Nova Scotia. The percent change in the rate from 2003/2004 to 2012/2013 also excludes community supervision data from the Northwest Territories. Because different populations are used to calculate rates due to the unavailability of data on some types of supervision from some jurisdictions, totals for individual rates do not add up to the total rate for the total population of youth aged 12 to 17 (excluding Quebec).
