Non-family violence refers to violence committed by dating partners, friends, casual acquaintances, business associates, criminal associates, authority figures, and strangers. Includes victims aged 0 to 89 years. 3. Rates are calculated on the basis of 100,000 population. Populations based upon July 1st estimates from Statistics Canada, Demography Division.
