The numbers in this article represent movement from one status in correctional services to another. For instance, an individual who moves from remand to sentenced custody is counted as one admission. Alberta uses a methodology whereby an admission to custody is counted once, regardless of change in status. 3. Prior to 2008/2009, other temporary detention was counted under sentenced custody. 4.
