Boundary changes within the Vancouver Island Health Authority of British Columbia occurred in 2003 affecting the following regions: South Vancouver Island (5941) reduced by 56,313 population or 14.7% (1996 Census); Central Vancouver Island (5942) gained 999 pop. or 4 %, and; North Vancouver (5943) gained 55,314 population, an increase of 102.6%.
