Highlights: What's New in this issueBuilding on the latest data available for indicators by current health region boundaries, this issue features cancer incidence age-standardized rates and unemployment rates. This issue also presents updated health region peer groups, based on the health regions as of June 2005. See the Health Regions section for more details. The final report from the Second Consensus Conference on Population Health Indicators, held in March 2004, can be found in About Health Indicators. This release of Health Indicators also coincides with the first issue of Your community, your health: Findings from the Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) which include selected indicator data, by health region, collected over the first six months of the Canadian Community Health Survey 2005. These publications are complemented by Health Regions: Boundaries and correspondence with census geography, the most recent version was released in September 2005 and includes 2001 Census basic profile data by the latest health region boundaries (June 2005). CIHI and Statistics Canada continue to work on improving this publication. For example, CIHI is redeveloping the application used to extract indicator data. This new tool will be operational early in 2006.
