Respondents could select more than one answer, and, therefore, total percentages exceed 100%. The sample used for estimating the reasons for not using a condom the last time they had sex among currently sexually active 15- to 24-year-olds numbered 2,382. Males (n=32) who reported last having sex with another male were not offered pregnancy or trying to get pregnant as reasons for not using a condom. Females who reported last having sex with another female were not asked the question on condom use, nor the following question about reasons for non-use. Because sexual orientation does not always correlate with behaviour, it is possible that some lesbian women reported last having sex with a male (this is rare, and therefore explains why the estimates are unreleasable/not presented).
