Highlights

  1. Strong energy prices fuelled the biggest increase in household spending in eight years during 2005 as Canadians allocated more of their household budget to gasoline and utilities. Meanwhile households in the booming western provinces and territories had more to spend for automobiles, cell phones and electronics.
