Highlights
March 2008
- Monthly production of primary steel and pig iron increased 5.6% in March 2008 to 1,423,703 metric tonnes.
- In the same month, the total disposition of shipments of rolled steel products rose 0.5% to 1,357,444 metric tonnes.
- Between February 2008 and March 2008, production of steel pipe and tubing increased 2.2% to 228,145 metric tonnes.
- Total shipments of steel wire and specified wire products edged up 0.7% to 53,018 metric tonnes in March 2008.
