The disturbance area category refers to forest
disturbance, which can be caused by changes in forest structure or composition
resulting from natural events such as fire, flood or wind, from mortality
caused by insect or disease outbreaks, or from human-caused events such as
forest harvesting.
'Other' consists of water, snow/ice, urban
and built-up land and statistical error.
