In 2018, 92% of Canadian adults aged 25 to 64 had graduated high school and 68% had completed post-secondary education

In 2016-2017, 98% of children participated in organized learning the year before entering into official primary education

PISA is an international assessment of the skills and knowledge of 15 year olds. In 2018:

  • 86% of students attained a minimum proficiency in reading
  • 84% of students attained a minimum proficiency in mathematics
  • 87% of students attained a minimum proficiency in science

Community Spotlight

Pathways to Education is a Canadian organization which aims to break the cycle of poverty through education. Their mission is to provide youth from low-income communities with the academic, financial, social and one-on-one support necessary to graduate high school. Since 2001, the organization has helped over 6,000 students graduate high school and 71% of them have gone onto postsecondary education or training.
