On average, 180 motorcycle fatalities occurred every year in Canada between 2016 and 2020.Note 1Note 2
The three most common types of fatal motorcycle collisions represented over half of all motorcycle fatalities.

At least one risk factor was reported in over half of motorcycle fatalities, and at least two risk factors were reported in nearly one-third of motorcycle fatalities.Note 3
- Alcohol, cannabis or other drug consumption was reported in nearly 1 in 3 (31%) motorcycle fatalities.
- Losing control was reported in more than 1 in 4 (27%) motorcycle fatalities.
- Driving at high speed was reported in nearly 1 in 4 (24%) motorcycle fatalities.
