Description: Police-reported crime in Canada, 2016
The Crime Severity Index (CSI)Footnote 1 was 1% higher than in 2015, marking the second consecutive increase after 11 years of declines. Due to the volume and severity of police-reported fraud, the 14% increase in the rate of this offence drove the change in the CSI.
