    Using data from the 2012 Incident-based Uniform Crime Reporting Survey (UCR2.2), this Juristat article examines police-reported cybercrime in Canada. Analysis is presented on the number of cybercrimes reported by police services covering 80% of the population of Canada, as well as the characteristics of incidents, victims, and persons accused of cyber-related violations. These findings are supplemented with self-reported data on cyber-bullying, based on results from the 2009 General Social Survey (GSS) on Victimization.

The analysis is based on 2008 police-reported data obtained from the Incident-based Uniform Crime Reporting Survey.     The purpose of this paper is to provide a demographic portrait of justice-related occupations and their evolution between 1991 and 2006. Four groups are analysed in more detail: police officers, private security officers, court workers and correctional service officers. Most of the data analysed are from the 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006 censuses of population, and some complementary information from other sources is also used. The evolution of the age structure of these groups is analyzed and compared to the age structure of all Canadian workers. Questions related to the aging and renewal of the workforce are also addressed.

How are the results ordered?

The Sort by feature provides three options:

  • By date – sorts results by product release date starting with the most recent.
  • By relevance is only needed or beneficial when you use the search box and submit a search query. Results are ordered by a combination of where the search term appears in the content, e.g., if it appears in the title, it likely means the product is more relevant to your search; how up to date or new the content in the product is; how popular the product is; and other factors.
  • By title – sorts results alphabetically.
