It is defined by geographic access to different types of retail food sources, including restaurants and food stores. The purpose of this paper is to describe the development and validation of the Canadian Food Environment Dataset (Can-FED): a pan-Canadian dataset of retail food environment measures at the dissemination area (DA) level using food outlet data from the 2018 Statistics Canada Business Register.
