The workshop covers the basic concepts and techniques of survey methodology. Topics include methods of data collection, population and frame, sample design, sample size, questionnaire design, response and non- response errors, focus groups, and omnibus surveys. Participants get "hands- on" in sample design and questionnaire design by working in small groups.

Lecture notes and other reference material are provided to each participant. Lecture notes are not available without course registration.

Cost

$5,500 for 18 persons + $200 for each additional person. The cost is based on 2 instructors. Travel costs are additional (see below).

Refund policy

The workshop fee will be fully refunded if intention to cancel is received in writing at least 2 weeks before the first day of the workshop.

Within 2 weeks before the first day of the workshop, cancellation will be subject to an administration charge of $500.

Travel costs

Real cost (in accordance with Treasury Board Travel Policy) + 50 percent overhead expenses.
