Investment in residential construction for Canada decreased 0.6% in June compared with May. Newfoundland and Labrador was down 19.4%, Prince Edward Island was up 40.6%, Nova Scotia was down 3.9%, New Brunswick was down 2.2%, Quebec was down 0.7%, Ontario was down 0.1%, Manitoba was down 5.9%, Saskatchewan was up 0.1%, Alberta was up 0.3%, British Columbia was down 0.9%, Yukon was up 52.3%, the Northwest Territories was down 7.9% and Nunavut was down 29.4%.

Total investment for Canada was $16,103.0 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $85.6 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $94.9 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $395.4 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $297.2 million, total investment for Quebec was $4,266.3 million, total investment for Ontario was $5,439.0 million, total investment for Manitoba was $750.9 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $372.7 million, total investment for Alberta was $1,626.6 million, total investment for British Columbia was $2,641.5 million, total investment for Yukon was $86.7 million, total investment for the Northwest Territories was $6.3 million and total investment for Nunavut was $39.8 million.

Single homes: Market share was 29.0% and total investment totalled $2,307.5 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 7.3% or $182.9 million.

Semi-detached homes: Market share was 2.9% and total investment totalled $232.6 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 7.1% or $17.7 million.

Row homes: Market share was 10.0% and total investment totalled $797.3 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 5.1% or $39.0 million.

Condo and rental apartments: Market share was 58.0% and total investment totalled $4,616.6 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 1.3% or $58.4 million.
