Investment in non-residential construction for Canada increased 0.8% in January compared with December 2025. Newfoundland and Labrador was down 1.5%, Prince Edward Island was down 0.3%, Nova Scotia was up 2.2%, New Brunswick was up 2.9%, Quebec was down 1.0%, Ontario was up 0.5%, Manitoba was down 2.1%, Saskatchewan was up 1.4%, Alberta was up 2.9%, British Columbia was up 2.2%, Yukon was down 2.6%, Northwest Territories was up 18.4% and Nunavut was down 11.5%.

Total investment for Canada was $6,969.1 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $24.5 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $21.2 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $137.0 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $118.1 million, total investment for Quebec was $1,196.8 million, total investment for Ontario was $2,940.3 million, total investment for Manitoba was $234.0 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $194.8 million, total investment for Alberta was $969.4 million, total investment for British Columbia was $1,096.8 million, total investment for Yukon was $21.6 million, total investment for Northwest Territories was $4.0 million and total investment for Nunavut was $10.5 million.

Industrial: Market share was 18.5% and total investment totalled $1,288.3 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 12.3% or $180.4 million.

Commercial: Market share was 50.8% and total investment totalled $3,540.3 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 5.6% or $187.9 million.

Institutional: Market share was 30.7% and total investment totalled $2,140.5 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 7.9% or $157.5 million.
