Investment in residential construction for Canada increased 3.8% compared with May 2024. Newfoundland and Labrador was up 2.7%, Prince Edward Island was up 3.1%, Nova Scotia was down 0.2%, New Brunswick was up 15.6%, Quebec was up 8.9%, Ontario was up 1.3%, Manitoba was up 10.6%, Saskatchewan was up 0.4%, Alberta was up 2.7%, British Columbia was up 2.4%, Yukon was up 44.2%, Northwest Territories was up 5.7%, Nunavut was down 8.0%.

Total investment for Canada was $14,970.9 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $65.4 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $70.2 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $468.0 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $345.8 million, total investment for Quebec was $3,253.5 million, total investment for Ontario was $5,592.5 million, total investment for Manitoba was $499.6 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $275.1 million, total investment for Alberta was $1,809.2 million, total investment for British Columbia was $2,541.3 million, total investment for Yukon was $19.2 million, total investment for Northwest Territories was $8.4 million, total investment for Nunavut was $22.8 million.

Single homes: Market share was 34.4%; total investment totalled $2,353.9 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 5.0% or $124.7 million.

Semi-detached homes: Market share was 3.5%; total investment totalled $237.7 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 21.8% or $42.5 million.

Row homes: Market share was 11.5%; total investment totalled $788.3 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 6.1% or $45.3 million.

Condos and rental apartments: Market share was 50.6%; total investment totalled $3,462.6 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 11.1% or $346.7 million.
