Building permit values in Canada up 10.5% compared to April. Newfoundland and Labrador down 15.4%, Prince Edward Island down 16.9%, Nova Scotia up 9.3%, New Brunswick up 22.8%, Quebec up 15.3%, Ontario up 16.6%, Manitoba down 30.6%, Saskatchewan down 18.5%, Alberta up 19.3%, British Columbia down 3.5%, Yukon up 13.9%, Northwest Territories up 52.1%, Nunavut down 64.3%.

Residential: The total value was up 8.5% month over month.
Non-residential: The total value was up 14.2% month over month.
Single family dwellings: total value was $2,438 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 1.3% or $32.3 million.
Multi-family dwellings: total value was $4,351 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 15.0% or $566.7 million.
Industrial: total value was $660 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 1.8% or $11.8 million.
Commercial: total value was $2,239 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 45.8% or $703.4 million.
Institutional: total value was $829 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 23.3% or $251.3 million.
