Infographic description

The title of the infographic is "Immigrants with a foreign degree are twice as likely to be overqualified as those with a Canadian degree"

This infographic is a bar chart showing the overqualification rate of the population of degree holders aged 25 to 64 by immigrant status, location of study and gender.

The axis shows percentages from 0% to 30%, by increments of 6%.

Among the Canadian-born individuals, the overqualification rate was 10.6% overall, 9.8% for the "Women+" category and 11.7% for the "Men+" category. Among immigrants with a location of study in Canada, the overqualification rate was 11.8% overall, 12.0% for the "Women+" category and 11.7% for the "Men+" category. Among immigrants with a location of study outside Canada, the overqualification rate was 25.8% overall, 28.3% for the "Women+" category and 23.1% for the "Men+" category.

Note(s): Given that the non-binary population is small, data aggregation to a two-category gender variable is sometimes necessary to protect the confidentiality of responses provided. In these cases, individuals in the category "non-binary persons" are distributed into the other two gender categories and are denoted by the "+" symbol. The category "Men+" includes men, as well as some non-binary persons. The category "Women+" includes women, as well as some non-binary persons.
