Building permit values in Canada up 11.9% compared with July. Newfoundland and Labrador up 9.9%, Prince Edward Island down 43.4%, Nova Scotia up 14.4%, New Brunswick up 0.8%, Quebec down 5.2%, Ontario up 44.4%, Manitoba up 19.4%, Saskatchewan down 33.4%, Alberta down 8.5%, British Columbia down 7.4%, Yukon down 60.9%, Nunavut down 97.5%. Northwest Territories: not applicable.

Residential: a month-over-month increase of 12.0%.

Non-Residential: a month-over-month increase of 11.8%.

Single-family dwellings: total value was $3,576 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 0.4% or $15.1 million.

Multi-family dwellings: total value was $4,872 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 22.2% or $886.7 million.

Industrial: total value was $787 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 18.1% or $120.6 million.

Commercial: total value was $2,062 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 1.4% or $28.8 million.

Institutional: total value was $1,185 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 39.1% or $332.8 million.
