Building permit values in Canada up 2.3% compared with April. Newfoundland and Labrador down 21.5%, Prince Edward Island down 32.5%, Nova Scotia down 7.2%, New Brunswick up 24.6%, Quebec down 15.2%, Ontario up 3.0%, Manitoba down 0.1%, Saskatchewan up 2.8%, Alberta up 2.8%, British Columbia up 22.9%, Yukon up 481.3%, Northwest Territories down 56.6%, Nunavut: not applicable.

Residential: a month-over-month decrease of 0.1%.
Non Residential: a month-over-month increase of 7.0%.
Single family dwellings: total value was $3,760 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 7.0% or $246.1 million.
Multi-family dwellings: total value was $4,011 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 5.9% or $253.1 million.
Industrial: total value was $911 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 6.1% or $59.2 million.
Commercial: total value was $2,169 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 15.6% or $291.9 million.
Institutional: total value was $1,214 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 4.3% or $49.7 million.
