Building permit values in Canada down 0.6% compared to March. Newfoundland and Labrador up 44.7%, Prince Edward Island up 32.1%, Nova Scotia up 32.1%, New Brunswick up 2.7%, Quebec up 6.3%, Ontario down 2.5%, Manitoba up 18.4%, Saskatchewan down 7.2%, Alberta up 1.8%, British Columbia down 12.7%, Yukon down 18.1%, Northwest Territories up 1,163.6%, Nunavut down 95.9%.

Residential: a month-over month decrease of 3.3%.

Non residential: a month-over-month increase of 5.0%.

Single family dwellings: total value was $3,559 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 2.0% or $72.0 million.

Multi-family dwellings: total value was $4,181 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 4.4% or $192.1 million.

Industrial: total value was $923 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 35.1% or $239.9 million.

Commercial: total value was $1,876 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 6.4% or $128.0 million.

Institutional: total value was $1,140 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 7.2% or $76.6 million.
