Building permit values in Canada down 9.3% compared to February. Newfoundland and Labrador up 19.8%, Prince Edward Island down 34.7%, Nova Scotia down 14.6%, New Brunswick up 10.3%, Quebec down 13.6%, Ontario up 9.3%, Manitoba down 31.9%, Saskatchewan up 20.2%, Alberta down 2.8%, British Columbia down 31.4%, Yukon down 29.0%, Northwest Territories down 86.1%, Nunavut down 89.1%.

Residential: a month-over month increase of 4.7%
Non residential: a month-over-month decrease of 29.5%
Single family dwellings: total value was $3,662 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 3.3% or $116.6 million.
Multi-family dwellings: total value was $4,281 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 6.0% or $243.0 million.
Industrial: total value was $694 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 2.8% or $18.7 million.
Commercial: total value was $2,022 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 7.2% or $157.9 million.
Institutional: total value was $1,007 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 58.5% or $1,419.2 million.
