Building permit values in Canada up 4.3% compared with August. Newfoundland and Labrador up 111.5%, Prince Edward Island down 16.8%, Nova Scotia up 8.2%, New Brunswick up 17.2%, Quebec down 8.0%, Ontario up 6.3%, Manitoba down 2.9%, Saskatchewan up 14.1%, Alberta up 21.6%, British Columbia up 4.7%, Yukon up 79.9%, Northwest Territories down 60.9%, Nunavut down 98.8%.

Residential: a month-over-month increase of 8.2%

Non residential: a month-over-month decrease of 3.2%

Single-family dwellings: total value was $3,034 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 2.7% or $83.1 million.

Multi-family dwellings: total value was $3,850 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 18.6% or $604.0 million.

Industrial: total value was $987 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 72.1% or $413.5 million.

Commercial: total value was $1,603 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 12.4% or $226.8 million.

Institutional: total value was $666 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 30.6% or $293.4 million.
