Investment in residential construction for Canada decreased 2.9% compared with July 2021. Newfoundland and Labrador was down 25.0%, Prince Edward Island was down 6.7%, Nova Scotia was up 2.0%, New Brunswick was down 4.8%, Quebec was down 3.9%, Ontario was down 2.4%, Manitoba was down 8.1%, Saskatchewan was down 2.3%, Alberta was down 2.7%, British Columbia was down 2.1%, Yukon was down 20.6%, Northwest Territories was up 61.7%, Nunavut was up 0.9%.

Total investment for Canada was $13,024.4 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $39.4 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $59.8 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $277.0 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $185.1 million, total investment for Quebec was $2,861.0 million, total investment for Ontario was $5,547.7 million, total investment for Manitoba was $415.7 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $165.3 million, total investment for Alberta was $1,284.7 million, total investment for British Columbia was $2,128.1 million, total investment for Yukon was $24.2 million, total investment for Northwest Territories was $31.6 million, total investment for Nunavut was $4.9 million.

Single homes: Market share was 45.6%, total investment totalled $3,392.6 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 41.4% or $992.6 million.

Semi-detached homes: Market share was 3.5%, total investment totalled $261.5 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 4.4% or $11.0 million.

Row homes: Market share was 9.7%, total investment totalled $718.1 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 31.2% or $170.6 million.

Condos and rental apartments: Market share was 41.2%, total investment totalled $3,063.7 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 17.9% or $465.7 million.
