This is a map of Canada by province and territory showing the month-to-month percentage changes for investment in residential building construction. Green arrows represent an increase, while red arrows represent a decrease.
Investment in residential construction for Canada decreased 5.8% compared to May 2021. Newfoundland and Labrador was down 5.2%, Prince Edward Island was down 31.4%, Nova Scotia was down 5.0%, New Brunswick was down 16.4%, Quebec was down 9.5%, Ontario was down 6.1%, Manitoba was up 0.2%, Saskatchewan was down 16.4%, Alberta was down 0.4%, British Columbia was down 0.8%, Yukon was up 6.8%, Northwest Territories was down 13.3%, and Nunavut was down 30.9%.

Row homes: Market share was 9.1%, total investment totalled $649.3, representing a year-over-year increase of 47.1% or $207.9 million.
Condos and rental apartments: Market share was 41.9%, total investment totalled $2,978.6, representing a year-over-year increase of 26.4% or $623.0 million.
