Building permit values in Canada up 2.1% compared to January. Newfoundland and Labrador up 5.6%, Prince Edward Island down 6.2%, Nova Scotia down 2.4%, New Brunswick down 30.3%, Quebec up 1.7%, Ontario down 3.6%, Manitoba down 17.0%, Saskatchewan up 9.2%, Alberta up 0.2%, British Columbia up 27.2%, Yukon up 53.9%, Northwest Territories down 72.3%, Nunavut too unreliable to be published.

Residential: a month-over month decrease of 2.9%

Non residential: a month-over-month increase of 14.2%

Single-family dwellings: total value was $3,495 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 1.0% or $33.7 million.

Multi-family dwellings: total value was $3,346 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 4.9% or $171.8 million.

Industrial: total value was $544 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 1.9% or $9.9 million.

Commercial: total value was $1,727 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 11.4% or $176.0 million.

Institutional: total value was $1,038 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 27.9% or $226.3 million.
