Building permit values in Canada down 14.6% compared with September. Newfoundland and Labrador down 55.2%, Prince Edward Island down 27.2%, Nova Scotia up 39.5%, New Brunswick up 16.3%, Quebec down 12.4%, Ontario down 23.9%, Manitoba down 15.8%, Saskatchewan up 13.8%, Alberta up 10.2%, British Columbia down 7.1%, Yukon up 14.9%, Northwest Territories up 505.1%, Nunavut too unreliable to be published.

Residential: a month-over month decrease of 5.9%
Non residential: a month-over-month decrease of 29.5%
Single family dwellings: total value was $2,676 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 2.2% or $61.0 million.
Multi-family dwellings: total value was $3,006 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 9.0% or $295.7 million.
Industrial: total value was $581 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 19.8% or $143.6 million.
Commercial: total value was $1,185 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 40.9% or $818.3 million.
Institutional: total value was $723 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 9.9% or $79.7 million.
