Investment in residential construction for Canada decreased 8.5% compared with August 2020. Newfoundland and Labrador was down 1.5%, Prince Edward Island was down 4.1%, Nova Scotia was down 2.5%, New Brunswick was down 3.6%, Quebec was down 15.2%, Ontario was down 9.5%, Manitoba was down 2.5%, Saskatchewan was down 7.3%, Alberta was down 2.5%, British Columbia was down 1.8%, Yukon was down 6.1%, Northwest Territories was down 13.5%, Nunavut was too unreliable to be published.

Total investment for Canada was $4,539.7 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $40.6 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $15.8 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $50.1 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $47.8 million, total investment for Quebec was $1,037.2 million, total investment for Ontario was $1,833.8 million, total investment for Manitoba was $182.4 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $85.7 million, total investment for Alberta was $571.6 million, total investment for British Columbia was $658.7 million, total investment for Yukon was $9.8 million, total investment for Northwest Territories was $2.8 million, total investment for Nunavut was too unreliable to be published.

Institutional: Market share was 24.6%, total investment totalled $1,115.2 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 0.6% or $6.5 million.
