This is a map of Canada by province and territory showing the month-to-month percentage changes for investment in new housing construction. Green arrows represent an increase, while red arrows represent a decrease.

Investment in residential construction for Canada increased 8.2% compared with July 2020. Newfoundland and Labrador was up 2.5%, Prince Edward Island was down 5.9%, Nova Scotia was up 4.4%, New Brunswick was up 18.8%, Quebec was up 12.8%, Ontario was up 4.0%, Manitoba was up 34.3%, Saskatchewan was up 1.7%, Alberta was up 19.0%, British Columbia was up 2.2%, Yukon was down 5.6%, Northwest Territories was down 49.7%, Nunavut was too unreliable to be published.

Total investment for Canada was $10,839.9 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $119.0 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $57.1 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $240.2 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $179.0 million, total investment for Quebec was $2,312.2 million, total investment for Ontario was $4,241.9 million, total investment for Manitoba was $410.7 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $160.4 million, total investment for Alberta was $1,358.2 million, total investment for British Columbia was $1,735.4 million, total investment for Yukon was $23.7 million, total investment for Northwest Territories was $2.2 million, total investment for Nunavut was too unreliable to be published.

Single homes: Market share was 41.8%, total investment totalled $2,357.3 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 1.1% or $25.2 million.

Semi-detached homes: Market share was 4.4%, total investment totalled $249.9 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 21.4% or $44.1 million.

Row homes: Market share was 9.7%, total investment totalled $547.7 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 6.3% or $36.5 million.

Condo and rental apartments: Market share was 44.1%, total investment totalled $2,484.6 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 10.8% or $242.2 million.
