Building permit values in Canada down 17.1% compared to March. Newfoundland and Labrador up 186.4%, Prince Edward Island down 88.2%, Nova Scotia down 43.1%, New Brunswick down 15.4%, Quebec down 34.1%, Ontario down 20.0%, Manitoba down 20.4%, Saskatchewan down 36.0%, Alberta down 9.9%, British Columbia up 16.4%, Yukon up 190.1%, Northwest Territories too unreliable to be published, Nunavut too unreliable to be published.

Residential: a month-over month decrease of 14.2%

Non residential: a month-over-month decrease of 21.9%

Single family dwellings: total value was $1,365 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 35.9% or $764.3 million.

Multi-family dwellings: total value was $2,553 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 4.8% or $118.0 million.

Industrial: total value was $377 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 34.7% or $199.7 million.

Commercial: total value was $1,218 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 21.5% or $334.2 million.

Institutional: total value was $533 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 10.5% or $62.6 million.
