Building permit values in Canada up 4.0% compared to December 2019. Newfoundland and Labrador up 57.6%, Prince Edward Island down 8.5%, Nova Scotia up 15.9%, New Brunswick down 30.3%, Quebec down 16.4%, Ontario down 4.5%, Manitoba up 23.6%, Saskatchewan up 28.2%, Alberta up 2.4%, British Columbia up 52.1%, Yukon up 453.9%, Northwest Territories down 64.0%, Nunavut too unreliable to be published.

Residential: a month-over month increase of 12.7%.
Non residential: a month-over-month decrease of 7.8%.
Single family dwellings: total value was $2,369 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 7.0% or $155.0 million.
Multi-family dwellings: total value was $3,411 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 17.1% or $496.8 million.
Industrial: total value was $682 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 6.8% or $43.5 million.
Commercial: total value was $2,051 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 0.8% or $15.5 million.
Institutional: total value was $732 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 30.5% or $321.9 million.
