Investment in residential construction for Canada increased 1.8% compared to July 2019. Newfoundland and Labrador down 0.6%, Prince Edward Island down 1.0%, Nova Scotia up 10.0%, New Brunswick up 0.4%, Quebec down 2.7%, Ontario up 5.3%, Manitoba up 11.6%, Saskatchewan up 9.0%, Alberta up 4.8%, British Columbia down 5.0%, Yukon down 16.8%, Northwest Territories up 21.2%, Nunavut down 22.3%.

Single homes: Market share was 43.1%, total investment totalled $2,384.4 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 6.0% or $151.9 million.

Semi-detached homes: Market share was 3.7%, total investment totalled $205.8 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 4.3% or $8.5 million.

Row homes: Market share was 10.6%, total investment totalled $586.4 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 13.0% or $67.5 million.

Condo and rental apartments: Market share was 42.6%, total investment totalled $2,353.4 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 5.1% or $114.0 million.
