This is a map of Canada by province showing the month-to-month percentage changes for total building permit value. Green arrows represent an increase, while red arrows represent a decrease.

Building permit values in Canada up 3.0% compared with June 2019. Newfoundland and Labrador down 25.0%, Prince Edward Island down 8.8%, Nova Scotia down 19.1%, New Brunswick up 28.3%, Quebec down 4.0%, Ontario up 3.4%, Manitoba up 24.5%, Saskatchewan down 18.3%, Alberta up 4.1%, British Columbia up 10.5%, Yukon down 31.7%, Northwest Territories up 118.9%, Nunavut up 223.6%.

Residential: a month-over month increase of 2.2%.

Single family dwellings: total value was $2,305 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 0.2% or $4.0 million.

Multi-family dwellings: total value was $2,755 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 4.2% or $112.1 million.

Non-residential: a month-over-month increase of 4.3%.

Industrial: total value was $558 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 6.9% or $41.7 million.

Commercial: total value was $1,999 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 6.7% or $125.3 million.

Institutional: total value was $731 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 7.6% or $51.7 million.
