This is a map of Canada by province and territory showing the month-to-month percentage changes for investment in new housing construction. Green arrows represent an increase, while red arrows represent a decrease.
Investment in new housing construction for Canada decreased 4.2% compared to September 2018. Newfoundland and Labrador down 3.6%, Prince Edward Island down 0.5%, Nova Scotia up 4.4%, New Brunswick down 5.3%, Quebec down 1.5%, Ontario down 6.7%. Manitoba down 5.7%. Saskatchewan up 6.4%, Alberta down 9.6%, British Columbia up 0.0%, Yukon down 29.6%, Northwest Territories down 23.6%, Nunavut up 986.4%.

Semi-detached houses: Market share is 3.8%, total investment totalled $196.3 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 12.5% or $21.7 million.
Row houses: Market share is 10.7%, total investment totalled $556.9 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 11.0% or $68.8 million.
Apartments: Market share is 43.5%, total investment totalled $2,269.0 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 27.8% or $493.2 million.
Note for Nunavut: The increase in Nunavut is attributable to a new construction project.
