Chronic hepatitis B and C (HBV/HCV) viral infections challenge public health systems in Canada and around the world. An estimated 5% of the world population is chronically infected with HBV, and around 3%, with HCV.


Longitudinal trajectories of sleep duration in the general population

Problems sleeping are relatively common—in 2002, for example, about 13% of Canadians aged 15 or older reported trouble falling or staying asleep. In the future, sleep problems may become even more prevalent because of the growing share of elderly people in the population and increases in the prevalence of obesity and other physical and psychiatric co-morbidities associated with sleep disturbances.
