e estimate
1. Full-time equivalent enrolment (from Table C.2.1) divided by full-time equivalent educators (from Table C.2.2). The student-educator ratio is not the same as the student-teacher ratio. The student-educator ratio includes teachers and non-teaching staff (personnel outside of the classroom, such as principals, counselors and specialists).
2. In Saskatchewan, full-time equivalent educators figures include "historic high schools", but full-time equivalent enrolments figures do not.
3. Data prior to 2004/2005 are not comparable with more recent data due to a change in methodology.
Notes: Due to the nature of ESESP data collection, these data are updated on an ongoing basis and are therefore subject to further revisions. These data are for publicly funded schools only and do not include private schools and federal schools.
For a brief description of this indicator, including the methodology, please see the Handbook for the Pan-Canadian Education Indicators Program.
