The 2012 Census Subdivision Boundary File portrays the boundaries of all 5,250 census subdivisions which combined cover all of Canada. The boundaries, names, and codes of census subdivisions reflect those in effect on January 1, 2012, the geographic reference date for this edition of the Census Subdivision Boundary File. Information about census subdivision changes that were effective on or before the January 1, 2012 geographic reference date must be received by Statistics Canada prior to March 1, 2012, in order to be processed in time for this edition of the file.
The 2012 Census Subdivision Boundary File contains a boundary change affecting two census subdivisions (Barrie, CY [3543042] and Innisfil, T [3543017]) depicted within the 2011 Census Subdivision Boundary File. Their boundaries have been adjusted as a result of the 2011 Census Population and Dwelling Review process.
