This is a revised
level to take account of retroactive adjustments made to the population estimates
after the publication of these projections. Among other things, the adjustments
served to take net undercoverage into account and to add components not formerly
estimated, such as non-permanent residents and returning emigrants.
In the 2005/2031 edition,
an immigration rate was used until 2030/2031, followed by fixed numbers
of immigrants (namely the numbers projected for 2030/2031 using
a rate) from 2031/2032 to 2055/2056.
