This is a vertical bar graph that illustrates the rate of violent victimization in Canada in 1999 and 2004, by total violent crimes, physical assault, robbery and sexual assault.
The Y axis is measured by the rate per 1,000 population aged 15 years and older increases by increments of twenty from 0 to 120.
The X axis is divided into four sections each containing a set of 2 bars, for a total of eight bars. On the X axis from left to right, the four sections are total violent crime, physical assault, robbery and sexual assault. Each section has 2 bars, the first bar in each section representing the rate in 1999, and the second bar in each section representing the rate in 2004.
The rate per 1,000 population 15 years and over for total violent crimes in 1999 is 111.
The rate per 1,000 population 15 years and over for total violent crimes in 2004 is 106.
The rate per 1,000 population 15 years and over for physical assault in 1999 is 81.
