Annual admissions refers to the total number of formal admissions that were recorded over a 12-month period (e.g., April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010), and illustrates the frequency with which women and children access certain types of shelter. The number of residents refers to the total number of women and children who were in facilities on April 15, 2010.
