Note(s): Rates are not shown for the territories due to the variation between
provincial and territorial rates. On April 15, 2010, there were 221 women
residing in shelters primarily because of abuse for every 100,000 women
in the Northwest Territories, and 297 for every 100,000 women
in Nunavut. In order to comply with the confidentiality requirements of the Statistics Act, a rate for Yukon is not calculated.
