Includes respondents who reported that they had experienced at least one instance of childhood physical and/or sexual abuse by an adult aged 18 and older before they turned 15.

Includes respondents who reported that at some point in their lives they had to live in a shelter, on the street or an abandoned building, or had to make temporary living arrangements because they had nowhere else to go.

Includes respondents who reported that they have a condition which makes it difficult to learn that limits their daily activities sometimes, often or always, excluding mental or psychological conditions.

Includes respondents who reported that they had used non-prescribed drugs such as cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy and others during the preceding month. Cannabis prescribed by a doctor is excluded.

Note: Stalking includes repeated and unwanted attention that causes the victim to fear for their personal safety or for the safety of someone they know. Non-intimate partners include people other than current or former legally married or common-law spouses or dating partners. Only significant characteristics were retained in the final model. For all the variables tested, see the variables presented in the “Methodology for logistic regression” section.
