Intimate partner violence refers to violence committed by legally married, separated or divorced persons, common-law partners (current and former), dating partners (current and former), and other intimate partners. Victims refer to those aged 15 to 89. Victims aged 90 years and older are excluded from analyses due to possible instances of miscoding of unknown age within this age category. Excludes victims where the sex or the age was unknown or where the accused-victim relationship was unknown.
