Highlights: What's new in this issue

Thirty-five indicators, most at the health region level, are now available from the third cycle (2005) of Statistics Canada's Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS). Free CANSIM tables and thematic maps are found in the "Data tables and maps" section of the publication.

CIHI recently launched a new and improved online tool for accessing indicator data in the electronic publication. A user-friendly interface makes querying data easier and more straightforward and now includes a graphing function.

Additional changes improving the publication’s usability are found throughout this issue. For example, a new health region profile table provides quick access to a series of CCHS data for a given region. Since rate comparisons are commonly made, this table now provides indication where there are statistically significant differences, relative to province, national, peer group and previous cycle estimates.
