In accordance with the concept of family quality of life in the context of disability, family health and well-being comprised physical health, psychological well-being, and the economic impact of having a child with a disability, as they relate to parents. In turn, psychological well-being is composed of satisfaction with life, amount of stress, having time for oneself, and stress caused by responsibilities. Economic impacts are not taking a job, quitting work, changing work hours, turning down a promotion, working fewer hours, working more hours, losing a job, and financial problems. A second-order factor structure with psychological well-being and economic impacts treated as latent constructs and physical health as an indicator variable was supported by Confirmatory Factor Analysis.
